Paste the link into the box on IGDL and press Download.

  3. Save the MP4

    Save the MP4

Tap Download on the preview. The video saves to your phone or computer in original quality.

A faster way: swap the address

You do not have to come here first. In any Instagram reel, post or tv link, replace instagram.com with IGDL and open it. The page arrives with the link already in the box and the download starts on its own.

Instagram link
https://www.instagram.com/reel/DExAmPLe123/
Change it to
https://igdl.app/reel/DExAmPLe123/

The swap works on reel, reels, p and tv addresses, which covers every public reel, feed video, photo and album. Anything else on that path is a plain 404, so a mistyped code will not send you somewhere odd.

What you can download

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes. IGDL is free and supported by ads. There is no limit on downloads.

Do I need to log in to Instagram?

No. We only work with public posts and reels, so no account or password is ever needed.

Can I download private or story videos?

No. Stories, highlights and private accounts are not supported. IGDL only opens public posts and reels, the ones anyone can see without logging in.

Is there a watermark?

No. You receive the original MP4 file exactly as Instagram serves it.

Where does the file go on iPhone?

Safari saves it to Files, then Downloads. Open it there and tap Share, then Save Video, to move it into Photos.

Is downloading Instagram reels legal?

Saving a public video for personal, offline viewing is generally fine. Re-posting someone else's content without permission may infringe their copyright. Always credit and ask the creator.

Where do the photos from an album go?

Each image in the album gets its own button, and each one saves the way a single photo does: to the browser Downloads folder on a computer, to Files on iPhone, to the Download folder on Android. Tap them one at a time, the order matches the post.

Why does a link sometimes fail?

Usually the post was deleted, the account is private, or Instagram is rate-limiting requests for a moment. Check that the link opens in a logged out browser, wait a minute, then paste it again. Profile pages, hashtag pages and search results hold no single post, so those are refused on purpose.

Do you store the videos or the links I paste?

The file is never written to our disk. The download normally runs straight from Instagram to your device, and the rare fallback path only relays the data without saving it. The post code stays in memory for about ten minutes so the same thing is not requested from Instagram twice, and none of it is tied to you, because there is no account and no history.

What is IGDL and what does it do?

IGDL is a free Instagram downloader, a web tool that saves public Instagram media onto your device; people also find it as IG DL, Insta DL or Reel DL. Paste the link to a reel, a feed video, an old IGTV post, a photo or a whole album, and every item in it comes back with its own download button. There is nothing to install, no account to create and no browser extension to add.

What file format and quality do I get?

Videos arrive as MP4 and pictures as JPG, the same files Instagram itself serves. The standard MP4 is the ready-made file Instagram plays, usually 720p. When Instagram also keeps a 1080p copy, a second button builds it on your device, and a third turns the sound into an MP3. Each file is named after the first line of the caption, with a number added when a post holds several items.

Is there a daily or total download limit?

No. There is no counter, no daily cap and no account for a quota to attach to, so you can come back as often as you like. The only pause comes from Instagram itself: when it starts limiting requests, a link can fail for a minute before it works again.

Which devices and browsers are supported?

Any current browser on any system: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, Opera and Samsung Internet, on Android phones, iPhones, iPads, Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS. The page is a form and a few buttons, so an older phone copes with it as easily as a desktop.

Why is a download sometimes slow?

The file travels from Instagram's own servers to your device, so the speed comes from that connection and from your network, not from this site. A long video on a weak mobile signal takes a while. Switching to Wi-Fi, or trying again a moment later, usually fixes it.
